We are happy that we are now open on Sundays! Please find below details of some of our programming coming up until Christmas.

17th September – General Opening: Our permanent exhibition ‘Through Our Eyes’ will be open for you to explore and learn about Holocaust survivors from the North of England.

15th October – We are welcoming our friends from the AJR’s Next Generation network. If you’re part of the 2nd or 3rd generation and have ever been curious about what’s behind the scenes in our collection, or if you’re eager to discover more about the AJR’s touching ‘My Story’ project, this is a perfect moment to share in a unique experience with like-minded individuals. If you are interested in attending please email debra@ajr.org.uk

5th November – Join our Curator of Contemporary Practices to create your own zine! Follow your own passion or find inspiration from our survivors stories to create a zine. Our Curator will be doing a guided session at 1pm or drop in anytime to have a go for yourself.

12th November – Does your little one love history? Do they want to learn how to become a history detective? Join our Head of Learning for exciting activities that will test their skills and knowledge, and see if they have what it takes to be a history detective!

19th November – We are excited to be joined by the team from Their Finest Hour who are preserving family stories, memories and objects from the Second World War. 26th November – Join us at 1pm for an exclusive tour around our permanent exhibition ‘Through Our Eyes’ and hear some of the stories of our survivors that we couldn’t fit into the exhibition.

3rd December – Would you like to bring your family to meet one of our Holocaust survivors? Join us for a morning of crafts, stories and have your photo taken with Liesel Carter.
