Join us at Holocaust Centre North for a special event held as part of Kirklees Heritage Open Days.
This talk, led by a Third-Generation Holocaust Survivor, will explore the stories of those who survived the Holocaust in hiding spaces. It will also reflect on the impact of survivor testimony and what it means to share these histories across generations.
This talk offers the unique opportunity to engage more deeply with our permanent exhibition “Through Our Eyes”, which tells the stories of 16 Holocaust survivors and refugees who made new lives in the North of England. Event attendees are warmly invited to explore the exhibition at their own pace, prior to or following the talk.
This event is free but pre-booking is required.
About Holocaust Centre North:
Holocaust Centre North promotes education on the Holocaust and post-Holocaust issues to raise awareness of human rights, freedom, and equality. We do so by telling a global history through local stories, specifically those of survivors and refugees who rebuilt their lives in the North of England.
About Heritage Open Days:
Heritage Open Days is England’s largest community led festival of history and culture, involving thousands of local volunteers and organisations. Every year in September it brings people together to celebrate their heritage, community and history. Stories are told, traditions explored, and histories brought to life.
Heritage Open Days runs from the 12th – 21st September. Visit the Heritage Open Days website for a full event calendar : https://www.heritageopendays.org.uk
