We welcome you to an evening screening of a short film created by University of Huddersfield’s MA Graphic Design students in collaboration with the Holocaust Centre North Archive from 5pm to 7pm.
Based upon the life of German refugee and Holocaust survivor, Heinz Skyte (1920-2020), this film creatively illustrates Heinz’s experiences fleeing his home near Nuremberg to make a new life in Leeds. As part of the students’ final project for their module (TMA1442), this incredible film showcases these postgraduates’ skills in graphic design and motion graphics, while bringing attention to Heinz’s remarkable story of survival.
Attendees will be offered light refreshments and exclusive access to our permanent exhibition “Through Our Eyes”, which based upon the lives of sixteen refugees and Holocaust survivors who fled Nazi persecution to resettle in the North of England.
There’s no need to book a ticket, please just come by Holocaust Centre North. We look forward to seeing you there!
(With special thanks to the Skyte family, Dr Sara Nesteruk and all the MA Graphic Design students in TMA1442).
