League of German Girls

The League of German Girls, or Bund Deutscher Mädel, was the female branch of the mass youth movement in Nazi Germany, which was managed by the Hitler Youth. The League indoctrinated young girls into Nazi ideology and prepared them for their role in society as wives and mothers. There was a focus on physical activity and health, as well as building skills that Nazi ideology upheld were important for females to ensure cohesion in the home, including cooking, sewing and home making.
