The act of working against a regime, this may be actively or passively. All countries had active resistance groups who worked against the Nazis through various means, including spreading anti-Nazi messages, helping Jewish and persecuted peoples, armed resistance, sabotage, and destroying infrastructure. There were also resistance groups within most of the concentration camps. Other forms of resistance included spiritual resistance, for example when Jewish people continued to practise their faith (often in secret), despite being persecuted.
