We will be closed from Thursday 19th December until Monday 13th January

Exhibition closed

We're open Monday – Thursday 10am – 4pm

We update our website regularly, so any changes to our opening times will be advertised here and on social media. Signing up for our monthly e-newsletter will ensure you never miss an update from us.

Admission

Our exhibition is free to visit. But as a charity, we recommend a minimum donation of £4. Your support helps us keep the exhibition open, continue our important work, and highlight the importance of Holocaust education today.

We recommend spending at least 1 hour in the exhibition, but when you engage with our touchscreens and other media, it is possible to spend longer.

If you wish to visit with a booked group on a Friday or Saturday, please get in touch with us. We will be happy to accommodate your requirements.

Collection

We have a growing collection of archive material that reflects the extraordinary experiences and journeys of local Holocaust survivors and refugees who made new lives in the North of England.

From cocktail shakers to correspondence, telegrams to travel documents, photographs to filmed testimonies, we preserve and safeguard these individual stories and rare materials for future generations.

Learning

Our learning centre is designed with education and personal development in mind. We offer a variety of workshops for schools, adult learners and community groups, as well as opportunities for teachers, university students and our supporters.

Group visits

If you’d like to plan a future visit for a group of 15 or more people, please contact us to discuss your needs. By doing so, we can ensure you can get the most out of your visit. For capacity reasons, if you arrive without booking, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate you within the exhibition.
